ABOUT ME

HOME ABOUT ME SONG LIST SERVICES LESSONS

I've been playing harp since 1995, when I woke up Christmas morning and found a harp next to the tree.  Having a musical background, I was able to pick it up and it has become my favorite instrument to play. I find it very therapeutic and hope my listeners enjoy the music as much as I like to play it.

I play a five foot, 36 string, Dusty Strings harp.  It was a high school graduation gift from my mother (who started the whole thing) and my grandfather (who encouraged my love of music).  There are no pedals on this harp like the ones you would find in a orchestra, therefore most of my music consists of Irish, English and Scottish folk songs.  However, I do play several popular pieces such as Pachelbel's "Canon" and "Into the West" from The Lord of the Rings.

I was able to teach myself how to play with the help of Silvia Woods, but my style requires me to memorize my pieces in order to perform them, so you will not see a music stand before me.

Regular Places Where I Currently Perform

I've been playing at the Empress Tea Room since 2003.  Click here for information about the tea room.
